Alexandra Oliver-Dávila

For more than 20 years, Alex Oliver-Dávila has worked to create a community that supports youth, values their input, and believes in their ability to create positive social change. As executive director of Sociedad Latina since 1999, she has transformed the organization into a cutting-edge, data-driven youth development organization. The organization has quadrupled its budget, expanded programming and the number of youth and families served, and developed its Pathways to Success model. Alex has also forged dozens of cross-sector partnerships, creating a broad network and leveraging resources that offer youth and families a variety of opportunities.
Alex co-chairs the Boston Youth Service Network and serves on the boards of the Margarita Muñiz Academy, Emmanuel College, and the National Coalition of Schools Educating Boys of Color, and on many local and national advisory committees. She has received many honors for her dedication to Boston’s Latino community from agencies ranging from Boston City Council to Freedom House to the NFL and the Hispanic Heritage Foundation. In 2016, Mayor Walsh appointed her to the Boston School Committee.
Alex received an Honorary Doctorate from Emmanuel College in 2012. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Emmanuel College and a Master’s in Public Policy from Tufts University. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.
