GBLN Slams Trump’s Attack on Boston, Somerville and Chelsea

“Make no mistake, this is an attack by President Trump on the Greater Boston region,” said GBLN Coordinator Marta Rivera. “We are a community founded by immigrants and the president wants to tear us apart; but his shortsighted actions will only make us stronger.”

"GBLN stands with Mayor Walsh and other mayors of sanctuary cities committed to welcoming and embracing immigrants,” added Rivera.

Earlier this month GBLN launched a campaign to increase influence of Latinos across the region. The campaign includes a new website, www.GreaterBostonLatinos.org, featuring news on GBLN’s activities and the opportunity to sign up for action alerts.

Last week, GBLN co-sponsored a counter-inaugural event at the Boston Public Library featuring diverse writers and activists expressing their shared commitment to the rights and values of immigrants that are essential to American democracy.
